Keep fuel delivery crisp and air-free with service parts organized for quick, first-pass selection. Start at the drive: the Fuel Pump Coupling links the cam or accessory drive to the pump—replace it if you see cracking, ovaled bores, or rhythmic ticking at idle. Control fuel on/off with the Fuel Shutoff Solenoid in the correct voltage: 12-volt for light-duty circuits or 24-volt for higher-system voltage; weak or no “click,” hard hot restarts, or drain-back after overnight sits often point here. For auxiliary circuits, choose the Single-Pole Solenoids (12V or 24V) and renew the Rectangular Seal Rings—use two per shutoff solenoid—to stop nuisance leaks and air ingestion at the body.

Protect injectors and the high-pressure pump with a matched filtration stack. The Cummins Fuel Filter handles primary polishing; the Fuel Filter & Water Separator adds water defense for mixed-quality diesel or high-condensation environments. Mount separators cleanly with the Fuel Filter Base and service them easily with the Fuel Filter Removal Wrench (3-7/16" to 3-3/4"). For fleets running Racor-style housings, choose complete replacement units (500/900/1000) and stock 2010, 2040, and 2020 elements in the right micron rating: 2 micron (brown top) for maximum injector protection, 30 micron (red top) as a prefilter in multi-stage setups. Step down in stages (30 → 10/2) when plumbing dual or triple filtration to balance flow and protection.

Typical service triggers: hard starts after filter changes (air leaks at seals), erratic rail pressure, sluggish throttle response under load, visible water in bowls, or solenoid bodies damp with fuel. Pair fresh seals with the correct-voltage solenoid, renew the coupling, and install clean filters/elements to restore prime retention, crisp shutdown, and reliable ISX Dual Cam performance.
